Hey..........do I know you?!?

So how many hours do you whittle away blogging?!? Not just writing your own posts, but commenting on others as well.  I've been doing this blogging thing here on Blogger and previously on Yahoo 360 for around 7 or 8 years now. I have found that by venting, indulging in my occasional rages, ranting, purging my thoughts and expressing my meanderings here and elsewhere to be rather enjoyable. The comments I have received from followers range from deep and introspective to funny, informative and insightful. Very little offends me so I am never put off by the honesty of those who visit my page or the fact that many will disagree with what I write. I encourage everyone to post what they feel even if they are absolutely wrong by not agreeing with me.
Those of you who are regular visitors to my blog are certainly familiar with my openness and the fact that there is no shame in my game. No subject is too controversial or private for me to discuss in this forum; which of course is intentional, especially since I appreciate any and all attention and particularly my commenters various points of view.  I suppose that makes me an attention whore.  While this is hardly a criticism of my visitors, I have found that the "safer" topics such as politics and social injustice, for example, don't generate nearly as much interest or feedback as the more titillating ones such as tits, ass, moobs, busted hooves and strange sex.
Recently, I have looked back on some of my posts and wondered if perhaps in my attempt to let others get to know me by fully utilizing my "open book" philosophy; if maybe I should have held back a little. In the 3-D world, we form our initial impressions of others by what the eye beholds. In the words of Hannibal Lecter "we covet what we see". Then if we are so inclined we pursue conversation with each other to further investigate the people we meet. Instantly, we are able to decide if our interactions should continue or if we should move on without making any connections.
Blogging with others does not allow for this type of interaction since we rarely if ever get to see or talk to one another, outside of cyberspace. Sure, we exchange witty one-line comments on  various subjects and bullshit each other. But how do we know who and what kind of people we are talking to?!?  Does that really matter?!? Without actually meeting each other in person; can we accurately judge the intellect, morality, spirituality, sexuality and attractiveness of our fellow bloggers and posters by their written text and the fraction of a photograph and is that actually them or a picture they found somewhere online?!?  Who are we............really?!?
How well do you think you know the bloggers you visit?!? Who is your favorite and why?!? Would you actually want to meet some of the people you blog with based on their posts?!? Would any of the people you communicate with here in cyberspace be suitable for friendship or something more based on what you think you know about them?!?

  1. I'm actually real life friends with a few of my connections. We were friends from 360 or Ply and we ended up meeting.

Some I have no desire to meet, I just dig their thinking.

    Sex always generates more comments...

I read your blogs because there is never a dull moment

    1. Icnonlybme I've actually met 3 of my online blogging friends as well. I can think of a couple more I wouldn't mind meeting; but for the most part, I'm good with cyberspace.

To be honest, I'm scared of folks these days.

  2. I really like the people that comment on my blog. I'm proud to say that my blog seems to attract very bright people. And although I know that a few of my blog family members would make good friends I have absolutely no desire to meet anyone.

My blog is a release. It's where I can share things I wouldn't normally share comfortably with an offline friend. So if I were to become offline friends with people then it would surely inhibit my honesty on my blog. And my blog is very therapeutic.

  3. I have quite a number of folks who read my blog that I'd like to meet Reg. I've had some opportunities but, I was always on the grind and couldn't get away (because I'm always taking time off going to festivals and shit.)
My blog isn't therapeutic at all, I just put stuff out there and hope someone likes it enough to come back. I initially began blogging because I wanted to voice my opinion on matters but, it took a left turn and became a NOLA blog of sorts...which I love.
Reg, I can't believe I actually commented on the day you posted. I'm usually late to the party. My most favorite (non- NOLA) bloggers are you, Val and Ladylee. Why? Hell if I know but, y'all are.

    1. I met three of my blogmates over the years and I've never been disappointed by them. They appear in person to be the same personas that I see through the Internet, but I doubt all people are like that. Some people tend to become other people behind a keyboard. I suppose it's just as well that we'll rarely meet these people that we know online.

I just love your blog BayouCreole. Visiting your blog is like getting a slice of 'Nawlins whenever I stop by your page.

  4. Hi Reggie... it's been a while!! I actually fell away from blogging for a while, life has been ultra busy for me. I've been working almost full time, studying and theres been illness in the family; so in my spare time I'm helping out there as much as I can and getting my own stuff done at home. Wé're enjoying a long weekend here in the Land of OZ this weekend for the Queens Birthday. it's raining, I'm done with study now and graduate at end of the month, so & I finally have some me time to catch up!!!
Out of all the blogs I have visited in blog land, I find you the greatest mystery! I have always sensed that beneath that "No Holds Barred" exterior ... that there is a soft, gooey marshmallow centre... a man with a heart of gold!
I've not met any of my blogger friends because almost all of you live in another country... but one day, if I ever get to travel...Maybe just maybe!!!!

    1. It makes sense that you'd be isolated in the land down under Katherine. But I will tell you that it's rather interesting having people from the other side of the world comment on my posts. The world is the same all over unfortunately. The same crap exists here, that exists there.

I try not to be a mystery. I have usually cast a light on myself........even when I shouldn't have.

    1. Dawna I keep forgetting that you're in London. One of these days I'm gonna get around to visiting London and I'm gonna take the three of you to dinner.

That might be a nice way to spend an evening.

I appreciate having the three of you comment on my blogs. It's always nice to get a European perspective of things.

  7. Hey Reggie! You've tucked away the hooves until 2013, I see. I'll be on my guard next time for sure!
An-ti-ways, I feel that I know my blog friends, based on what they talk about. My favs are You and Moaner, because you make me laugh and you are really just real with yours. Lin makes me think and is really just real with his. Thinking and laughing are my favorite things to do, being a Sagitarrius and all. And for the above reasons, I think y'all be cool to know in person. With you, I'd like to shoot the isht at the barbecue joint and get some real southern biscuits. With Lin I'd like to talk about the arts and get some real NY pizza.
My other blogger friends are real cool as well.

I haven't had good New York pizza in a minute, I'm sure that Lin knows where you can get a nice slice.

Now I know more than a few places where you can get some good barbecue, whether it's here in Charleston or a few other places around the south.

  9. Hey Reggie, i guess i've been blogging for as long as you. I started in 2005, for release, for transitioning and getting my words out. It has definitely been good therapy, since i was going thru a divorce, though that is the one topic i never discussed on my blog, and becoming a single mom too! I've met several bloggers, some i'm really close to now, good friends and fam, and there are some i would like to meet as well. One thing about blogging is i share my entire world with people i don't know, sometimes that shit came back to bite me, an other times it was so fulfilling. No doubt about it, i like this blogging thing...alot.

    1. Lately I've been thinking about how much I share MizRepresent and the simple truth is that over the years I've shared much too, maybe too much.

I find this to be therapeutic and stress relieving and I hope it always is just that for me.

  10. I used to have friends read my blog, well when I was writing it on a regular basis, but I was never really comfortable with that. I mean how can you call someone friend and then talk shit about them for the world to see because of course those were usually the best stories that I was able to write about.

I think I would be just as uncomfortable meeting people who read my stuff now just because I would be frightened that: 1, they wouldn't like me, 2, I wouldn't like them or, 3, I would like them but I'd find something juicy to write about them that would please me but make us both squirm.

    1. Ya know Curious the only two people that I know outside of Cyberspace that read my blog are a first cousin of mine in the Army...who just got promoted to Lt. Col....a shoutout and a congratulations to my cousin Spike and lately my wife has been reading my blog. Now he rarely comments, she occasionally gives me grief about some of the subject matter that I post. She is concerned that sometimes I overshare....and I can understand that concern, but she also supports my blogging. She knows that this is one constructive way for me to reduce stress and she knows just how much I enjoy it.

  11. I started blogging so that some friends from home and I could continue to argue over any and every subject. The thing is - I've actually lost one of my best and oldest real-life friends over discussions had at my spot.

  12. I've blogged since 2004 in various places & made a small gang of connections, some of us I consider Real friends. One thing about blogging I've been made hyper-aware of is the concept of OVERSHARING, especially when it involves others than just myself. To cover my own azz & for protection's sake, I've learned to keep some things closer to the vest.

  15. Reggie,

By what I read from you..I would love to meet you out somewhere and over a couple of beers chew the fat with you so to speak. I get the feeling that we would have a lot in common since the majority of what we write about is basicully the same. You come across as a real dude. My favorite blog right now is Ohh Hell nawl. Those cats over there are stone cold crazy. I frequent the Field Negro alot...but the people he lets comment..turns me away most times. He gets the vile of the vile. I would not stand for that bullshit if I was him.. But I quess you learn by listening to different views and opinions. But all in all, this blogging shit is my way of venting also. I enjoy it. I have always enjoyed writing and hopefully one day I will finish the book I am trying to write. But for now...Blogging is my way to get my opinion on the world I live in outside of my little bubble. I don't update my spot now as much as I used to because I am constantly on a paper chase...but my love for it has not changed.

A lot of the bloggers I follow I would love to meet. I have actually had conversations with a few of them. A couple, meeting plans are in the works. So I'm definitely open to the possibility.

I would like to hear more about the book you're trying to write.

As far as writing is concerned, I've tried to write in the past No Labels, but I honestly don't think that I could write anything intelligible. I've tried, but hard as I might, I guess being an author just isn't in me.

  22. Hold back you Reggie?? no way thats what I associate you with and have done for the last two years! I think its wonderful we have this meduim of communication to meet new people, but allows us to perhaps also help someone out there without even realising we've made an impact. I know when I read blogs it kinda gives me a perspective of the writer, although some writers have varied characteristics so one day you may read something emotiionally laden next day something sexual etc. The crux of it you get to learn laugh and assimilate something new about the person and if touching enough am sure whether their words wise or not will certainly have some impact on the their take home message. For whats its worth each time I visit your blog its like healing therapy I leave similing every time :)

  29. It only makes sense for them to develop the game for the next Xbox and the PS4, though.

At least, however, it isn't there out of the box, as unlike the Xbox One,
which ships with a Kinect unit, the PS4 keeps
its price lower by not shipping the PS4 Camera with the base unit.
Finesse shots and goinged objectives in specific are very usual in the shipping
