This is why I'm for the death penalty!!!

I am now and I have always been a staunch supporter of the death penalty.  Anyone that reads my blog on a regular basis would know that. While I realize that mine isn't necessarily a popular position, I'm okay with the fact that most may not agree with me on this or any other topic.  In this blog I always welcome another opinion.  Of course, there was a time when I had doubts and misgivings regarding the use of capital punishment, particularly with it's application.  There are people in this country that would be prone to convict a person of color, as opposed to someone that looks just like them.  I got over those doubts and misgivings though years ago and I wouldn't be unhappy if we executed 30 people a month in every state in this nation for a year or two.  At least that way we'd be sure to get some of the scumbags out of jail.  I'm sick of my tax dollars being used to feed and care for the bastards!!!
When I see things like the story below.  I have no doubt in my mind that capital punishment is absolutely the right way to go with these predators.
Police: 10-year-old Colorado girl missing for week is dead

By the CNN Wire Staff
A 10-year-old Colorado girl reported missing one week ago is dead, police said Friday, spurring a manhunt for the person who killed her.
Westminster Police Chief Lee Birk told reporters that a body found earlier this week "has been positively identified" as that of Jessica Ridgeway.
"Our focus has changed from a search for Jessica to a mission of justice for Jessica," Birk said.
Jessica was last seen by her mother as she left for school October 5. Authorities then issued a statewide Amber Alert for the girl.
On Sunday, a man in a subdivision in Superior discovered Jessica's backpack outside his house about 7 miles from the girl's hometown of Westminster, said Westminster Police Investigator Trevor Materasso. Both towns are along the Denver-Boulder Turnpike.
A body -- which was "not intact," according to police -- was found Wednesday at a park in Arvada, a Denver suburb just five miles from Westminster. The body was identified Friday as that of Jessica.
With that news, Birk acknowledged that authorities "recognize that there is a predator at large in our community."
"We are doing everything within our power to apprehend that individual," he said.
Hundreds of volunteers had searched fields and streets, posted fliers and canvassed neighborhoods since news broke of the girl's disappearance. Hundreds of local, state and federal law enforcement officers have also been working the case, according to Birk.
As of Friday, authorities had searched more than 500 homes and 1,000 vehicles, responded to more than 1,500 tips and "covered thoroughly more than 800 leads," said Jim Yacone, special agent in charge of the FBI's Denver office.
"Open space and water searches by both law enforcement, the Westminster Fire Department and many hundreds of volunteers have been extensive, and they will continue," Yacone told
reporters Friday.
Anyone that would want to harm or have sex with a child is a deviant in my mind.  I can think of no reason to allow someone like that to walk around free and clear in an open society like ours.  While hanging and castration might be too good for them....I'd say that they deserve at least that; and not necessarily in that order either.

The way I see it, I don't care if you're a famous child molester or the strange, bug eyed, sweaty guy that lives next door....all of you should die. Whether you're a bishop, priest, minister, daycare worker, teacher, football coach, sheriff or a pastor that goes by the name Eddie "doo doo on his schlong" Long....I believe that you should permanently lose your walking around rights. Anyone that enjoys having sex with underage boys and girls needs to take an extended dirt nap.
I'm tired of seeing these people paraded before cameras.  Whenever a society allows the least of us to be repeatedly victimized, then society has failed.  These scumbags don't deserve a second chance.
As far as I'm concerned, electrocution and lethal injection are too good for child molesters.  Child molesters should be hung.  Hanging is the most cost effective choice.  A good rope can be used again and again and again and again and again!!!!
Hang 'em all I say, God will send the righteous to heaven!!!

  1. No argument from me. Toss in assisted suicide and castration, too! If we had a more thorough justice system, folks who should be in jail would be and vice versa.

  2. Nice post. I saw your comment on my blog and responded to it, but it looks like it fit here too, so to repeat myself:

I have mixed feelings about capital punishment. I'm generally against it because there have been, and still are, cases where the person on death row is found to be innocent. And I'd rather not kill 30 guilty men than let one innocent one die. At the same time, I understand that here are certain offenders who cannot be cured and who have no place in our society; i.e., sexual predators. You cannot cure someone who is sexually aroused by children or violence. I don't support chemical castration of sexual predators because that won't stop the violence. Sexual violence is just as much about the gratification as it is about the power. Castrating the offender won't stop the acts; they'll just find another (more violent) way to control their victim.

I think the problem with our justice system is that we coddle and cater to the convicts. Prisons shouldn't be about giving them their basic human rights; they gave that sh*t up the moment they broke the law. It shouldn't be about giving them good food, exercise equipment, tv, or even a mattress to sleep on. I personally know people who broke the law just to go to jail because they'd be improving their living situation. What we need to do is scoop up all these people who get convicted of heinous crimes (and I don't care if they're women or teenagers, either), drop them all off on an island far enough away that they can't swim back, and let them deal with each other. If they can't live in our society, we should just dump them off where they can't come back. I'd have no problem paying my tax dollars to fuel the planes that drop them off.

    1. I acknowledge that innocents will die, but innocents are dying now. Even if the occasional innocent dies, I for one can live with the consequences. Our laws need to be revamped so that officers of the court, police and lawyers are subject to the same outcomes should they withhold evidence or lie during these trials.

I don't believe that these people can be cured. The only cure they really need involves a stout oak tree and a good rope.

I don't believe that chemical castration will stop the violence, but I do believe that the death penalty will keep those that do these things dead.....which is what they should be and how they should remain.

A civilized society shouldn't be allowing a known sexual predator to become a repeat offender. The first time they do that, they're responsible. When they do that again and we know it, we're responsible.

Our justice system has many problems. Still and all, I believe that it has it's merits as well. The real problem with it though is the fact that the human element is involved and therin lies it's most telling fault. A man or woman can look at an individual and feel remorse.....when remorse shouldn't be extended.

I'd prefer our sexual predators to be dead and buried and not living next door to me.

One things for sure, if we kill them all we'll know for sure that they'll never commit a crime like this again.

    2. LakisSwirl, as someone who works for a company that provides food for inmates, let me assure you that "good food" would not be one its descriptions. Plus the idea of having someone else determine when you shit, shave and shower and the fear of being personally violated and abused by prisoners and or guards would never be considered as being coddled or catered to.

As for that island idea, I'm assuming you're not referring to Rikers or Alcatraz or even Devils Island, so let me remind you that it has been the history of man that even in a boat smaller than your father's Buick, he has been able to cross the seas and the oceans to start up again from where he left off.

    3. I don't doubt that the food isn't necessarily desireable Curious....nor should it be. While I think they should get more than a crust of bread, a bowl of gruel and a big glass of water daily....I don't think that they should get much more than that either. I do believe that inmates shouldn't have access to cable, the Internet or weights. None of them should come out of prison buff; and if they all remained in solitary confinement from the time they got there until the time they left it wouldn't bother me either.

I prefer hanging to the island idea.

    4. Any food provided with my taxes to inmates is good food. And my island idea would work if we had an armed sea patrol. I just can't get around the innocent getting caught up in deathrow. Even though it may seem a necessary evil, that man dying is still someone to somebody. And that has to count for something. I stand by my statement that the prison system is generally coddling. TVs, exercise equipment, hell even toilets, shouldn't be something they're "entitled" to. Prison should be prison. It should be the most horrible place imaginable. The fact that we have people who don't fear prison time tells me it's too easy. And I might sound contradictory here, but even though I'm against the death penalty, I'm for torture. I totally agree with you, Reggie, that once a sex offender is caught and offended, he should never be let back into our society. There is no reforming of sexual deviants. One offense is too many. And while I'm not at all religious, I still don't feel it's our right to kill them. Torture them, yes. Humiliate them, yes. Remove them completely from society and never let them return, yes. That's why the only solution I can come up with is a hellish prison far removed from society, preferably on another island. Let them deal with each other.

    5. Hell if it was up to me, they wouldn't get much more than potted meat, Ramen noodles, a half a slice of bread and a big glass of water a day.

I'm not saying that they all need their own toilet, they could share. Say 10 inmates per toilet. That and some toilet tissue is the Christian thing to do Lakiswirl. We're not savages, everyone should have access to toilet paper. Well, maybe not Charmin, but some of that writing paper toilet paper will do.

By the way Lakiswirl I did laugh at your comment a few times. You're against the death penalty, but you're all for torture. You could have worked in the Bush Administration for sure!!!

I honestly don't want to torture anybody, I just want to kill them. However.....I do respect your gangster Lakiswirl!!!

Lakiswirl you make damned sure that you come back to my page.

  3. You left out the disembowelment for the hanging and castration part all while the prisoner is still alive and conscience and then dismembering the body to all 4 points of the compass. That's what they used to call Drawing and Quartering.

Then when all of that's done and the bits and bobs have been buried in unconsecrated grounds, you'll find that the same number of people who are murdering and raping are doing the same murdering and raping as before. You would know this because most people commit a crime not because they think they can handle the punishment, but because they think they can get away with it. Just get on the highway and you'll see what I mean.

You prefer sexual predators to take a dirt nap and not to live next to you, but they do live next to you and will continue to live next to you until they are found out. They are the priests and the teachers and the guy that bags the groceries and the brother that you grew up with and everyone else who surrounds you, because you never know until you do.

So when you start your quest for revenge rather than justice and you've engaged your "pogroms" through the prison system I will be there ready to fight you because in a civilized society we no longer allow state sanctioned crimes against its own people. I would also remind you of what Portia pleaded to Shylock and simply say, "The quality of mercy is not strained," and that stuff happens and that there is no real point to just making it worse.

    1. Nice Curious, I like the sound of that. Isn't that what the English did to William Wallace?!? Based on those first two sentences I just might let you run my penal system.

I don't care who these deviants are Curious. But once they're found out I just want them dead. I don't see that as unreasonable. And no, I don't want to make it worse. I just want to make it better and if they're dead the world would be a much better place.

To LakiSwirl's point I think we coddle and cater to the people in our society deserving of it the least. The victims deserve our concern, not these bastards.

    2. Reggie, Wallace died but the underlying cause didn't. It only empowered The Bruce and showed that capital punishment does not work.

    3. Cause Curious?!? A cause is noble, what these people do isn't. They're not concerned with freedom, they just want to rape our children. I can understand why a Scot would grab a sword and try and resist the Brits. But I can't understand why we would want known predators running around horny for our children.

    4. A cause is never noble when you are on the other side of it, otherwise you'll be saying that the Arabs are right and we actually are the Great Satan. But more than that, more than the initial human knee jerk reaction that you bring up, I don't want to kill anybody. This isn't about finding sympathy for the perpetrators, it's about me.

I believe that to act violently towards a prisoner is to show that I am no better than him or her and that is unacceptable. I believe that I am better than the sum of my fears and my need for vengeance.

    5. Yes.....and opinions are like assholes. Everyone's got one and everyone swears that everyone else's stinks but theirs.

Well Curious you're clearly a better person than me.
I do not believe that all human life is precious Curious. As a matter of fact, I've never believed that. I don't have a problem with the death penalty because I believe that child molesters and murderers should die rather than my tax dollars go to feed and care for them. For me it's a simple choice. We can kill two birds with one stone. It makes sense to me.

Curious gave me chills with this because when I was a young girl the man who lived 4 doors from us and next door to my best friend was a child molester. He molested my best friend. We were in elementary school at the time and we never told anyone. He must have been in his 40's at the time and were were around 10 years old.
A few years ago my daughter(who was 13 at the time) told me about a man down the block from us who started blowing at her when she passed. One Sunday, he asked if she was going to church (which is right NEXT DOOR to us. She said when she got to church a few minutes later, she saw him walk through the doors. She left and came home and told me. Well, when she left, he must have left and I caught him driving back down the block to his house. I got in my car and drove down the block...told him if he EVA got anywhere near my daughter, I'd have his ass blown away. Then I sent my husband down there. Said man has been a ghost ever since...he ain't dead but, he don't drive down our part of the block anymore.
Curious is right...they are our neighbors and you don't know...until you know.

    7. OMG!!! BayouCreole thank God that animal didn't put his hands on your daughter!!!

My baby is 21 now. But when I think of her, I always think of her as 3 or 4 with a big smile on her face. That smile could have moved me to do almost anything. If someone had put their filthy hands on my daughter I would have willingly gone to jail....I still feel that way.

I know they're there. But as a society we have to close ranks on those people. They need to suffer any and all consequences if they violate the trust of their neighborhoods. For my daughter I would have put a mask on, grabbed a baseball bat and kicked in his back door. He would haven NEVER done that to anyone else's daughter again.

  4. I agree with capital punishment. If you shoot somebody in the head, then you die by a firing squad. When they catch this guy who cut up that little girl, he should be behead by a guillotine.. You will be surprise how crime would drop if people knew the law was going to pay them back the same way they did the crime, instead of nursing their ass the rest of their miserable life's ...

    1. There are those that say "an eye for an eye" leaves everyone blind. I don't believe that. I know we've never really tried this as it applies to murderers and the rapists of our children. I just don't understand why a rational person wouldn't want to see all child molesters and murderers dead.

The parent in me screams for justice and blood.

  5. I'm on the fence with capital punishment. I totally get where you are coming from though. I also believe that God will deal with the just and unjust in his own time and it's not our place to judge. I have no sympathy for child molesters and killers. I am sure that there is a special place in a dark hot corner in hell for people like that.

  7. The death penalty is just too easy. Once they are dead then there is no more punishment. I personally think living your life behind bars knowing you'll never get out is perfect punishment. But I would make sure that lifers have no contact with any other living thing for the duration of their sentences. Total and complete isolation.

And also, as others pointed out, there are a lot of innocent people on death row. Plus, most death row inmates spend 10 to 20 years appealing their sentences which end-up costing taxpayers millions per inmate.

Life with no parole in complete isolation is the perfect punishment.

    1. Call me blood thirsty if you will Val, but keeping these deviants alive just won't quench my blood lust. I don't want these people to spend years on death row. I want them to be able to have a single, solitary year to appeal and if nothing happens in that time....then I think they should hang.

I know there are innocent people on death row. That's been a sad reality since the first jail was erected. But for me, life won't do.

The only good child molester is a dead one.
