I'm thinking about getting a tattoo

Although I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for a while now, I've never gotten around to getting one, not yet anyway. Oh it's on my list of things to do; but for whatever reason, I just keep putting it off. My thoughts on tattoos have actually changed over the years. There was a time when I didn't think that tattoos were particularly sexy on women, but as time has gone by I've slowly changed my mind.
I've seen what I've considered to be some very sexy tattoos on women.......very sexy indeed. Tattoos have come a long way in the last couple of decades. Some of the actual artwork is very impressive. Yet, I must admit that I do hate to see tattoos on women's necks and breasts. Just because you have a tattoo doesn't mean that everyone has to see it; and also in my humble opinion, there are some parts of a woman's anatomy that simply can't be enhanced with ink.
But still, there are some tattoos out there that are kinda classy and sexy at the same time. But sometimes I wonder just how some of these tatted up women are going to feel 30 or 40 years from now; when gravity starts effecting parts of their bodies and some of those tattoos start to droop and sag. Most people don't seem to think about that when they're getting tattoos.

Then again, some people don't seem to think at all when they get tattoos.
Of course, some tattoos are not necessarily classy..........no, some aren't classy at all. Of course I've only shown pictures of women with tattoos in this blog.........and I am a man. So of course, I wouldn't be getting a tattoo that looks like anything in this blog.........particularly the last one. At some point in time I probably will get a tattoo and I'd like for you to tell me what you think that I should get........and what you have presently or would like.

  1. I don't do the tattoo thing, I don't knock anyone elses hustle. I don't want my kids name cause I don't c the point, my own name hell no. A killer clown and I don't even know where I will be in 10 yrs f ck no. R.I.P just a constant reminder of death. I do find some tattoos very sexy on woman, but they are just not my thing.

  2. Champ that's pretty much how I've always felt and probably why I still don't have one. I see plenty of men with tattoos of their children's names, Jesus's hands praying (even though they're far from saints), sports team logos, pictures of women's faces, tribal bands and all types of shit. I have yet to see anything that I'd want on my body through all eternity.

I work with a woman who has a man's name tattooed on her body, he's in prison. I don't get it. I know they have children together, but he's not coming out of jail anytime soon and what man wants to see another man's name tattooed on a woman that he's sleeping with? Every single time he looks at that ( @ )( @ ), he might as well be thinking of that other dude, since his name is already there and always will be.

  3. Reggie, I love your rants. Really I do. Also, I love my tatts. I think they're sexy for no particular reason. Call me young and silly but I don't care what will happen when I get old. I mean it's not like my body won't sag if I don't have tatts. I just don't get why ppl without tatts seem to think that your body will somehow look better.

I know mad old people people without so much as an ear piercings who have the ugliest most stretched out bodies I've ever seen. A tatt is a tatt. A body is a body. Whether or not you chose to combine the two is up to you. But please believe that just because you don't, doesn't mean your body will be on point. That is all.

  4. But LP, my body is on point now. There is nothing wrong with my body canvass; in fact, I'm quite pleased with what I've been gifted with.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Reggie, I feel that but keep in mind that you worked hard at keeping your body in shape. Not everyone does that tatt or not.

  6. C'mon LP, I don't really work that hard. All I do is get a little exercise and watch what I eat. Any damned fool can eat themselves to death. I think that the problem with many of the people in this country is that they act like they don't know how many biscuits that they're supposed to eat.

  7. I didn't get a tattoo until life dictated such. There's nothing worse than chatting it up with someone about their tat and the answer has something to do with drinking, or all my friends, or other bullshyt like that.

On the other hand, I've met a lot of fabulous people and heard a lot of great stories over why people got some of their ink. I'm currently been thinking about getting my second piece of ink in memorial of our lost child. However, I want to incorporate it into / with my current one on my shoulder (and I just haven't figured out how to do that just yet).

  8. I think chest and back tattoos are very sexy on guys. Well tattoos in general on guys are sexy. I have six myself. On my wrist, back, side, collarbone and ankle. Lots of Japanese writing and things like that. Sounds like I'm covered but I'm not. I think they are addicting though. Once you get one, you'll probably get more.

  9. I've got a tattoo that is now about 33 years old. It's a small black rose on my left shoulder. It's held up very well over the years. People are always surprised when they find out about it. There aren't too many sistas in my generation who have one.

They can be sexy. But they can also be a visible reminder of the lack of mentality on the wearers part. Like the sista featured in this post.

  10. One thing will keep me from ever getting a tattoo; hepatitis C. People with tats have a very high rate of hep C infections.

  11. I have two tats. One I got when I was younger and trying to be a thug, I got the name of my set on my chest. I still regret that one to this day. The other one is my Fraternity. I plan on adding more to it later on. I want to get my nick name tatted on the upper side of my chest and have it mirrored over my shoulders and onto my back where it meets up, but I haven't summoned up the balls yet to endure the pain. I also want to get a tat that covers up the scar I got in the middle of my chest from where I was stabbed... Don't ask.... again... I was a thug in training in my younger days.
But then again these are just wants.....

  12. Tats can be beautiful but they can also be just awful...sigh. Think hard be for you mark up your body is all I can say. And I find SOME tats sexy on men. Some just look so stupid! lol

  13. Now Folk, that sounds like a reason to get a tattoo. Then again, I'm not sure that I'd want to think about that everyday.........but then again, how could you not?!?

  14. Eva have you ever blogged about your tattoos? Six sounds like a lot, but maybe it isn't if they're somewhat small tattoos?

  15. MsLadyDeborah I remember a lady friend of mine who had a black rose in her pubic hair. When she got tired of looking at it, she stopped shaving her pubic hair.

Just because you've got one, doesn't mean that it has to be seen if you don't want it to be seen.

  16. I must admit that I didn't know about the Hepatitis C thing Val. But I do know this, everything that is enjoyable or desireable in this life, comes at a price. There is a price to be had for all things enjoyable or desireable.

    Scary though..........

  17. Dirty Red none of us are complete or immune to foolishness when we're young. That's one of the reasons why I wish more people thought about getting these tattoos when they're older.

My 20 year old son is a college student and in the Army National Guard. So although, I'd always warned him about tattoos, I wasn't entirely surprised when I saw that stupid Joker tattoo on his shoulder.

    It is what it is.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Camile I just don't want to mark it up with foolishness, it would have to be something of distinction.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't think I've ever blogged about them. Not that I remember anyway. They are somewhat small so that's why it doesn't look like as much as it is. But still I get questions about them all the time so I don't know, maybe I am that stereotype to everyone else and I just don't see myself that way.

  20. I got 3 while I was in the military and I definitely thought long and hard before doing it. I saw way too many people get tattoos that I knew they'd regret later. As you said, a tattoo can be a thing of great beauty but it can also be a really bad idea as evidenced by the #1 Dick Sucka! Lol.

  21. i can honestly say that PERSONALLY i dont think i will EVER get a tattoo... but ive seen tattoos that i thought were cool.

Im sorry to hear your son got a joker tattoo... you mean joker as in batman-joker? or deck of cards joker? either way... whats the symbolism... why a joker? just curious?

and as far as you getting a tattoo... i's put money on you NOT getting one before i even wasted my time suggesting something lol... you know you dont want no dang tattoo's reggie.

    lol

  22. I guess anything is possible Eva, perception seems to be reality.

Curious that you've never blogged about your tattoos; particularly since when you blog it's as if your blog comes to life and they are after all a part of you. Your descriptions are rather deep and you exercise your writing skillz in a manner that makes many of us realize just how inadequate we are at times.

  23. Spoken Word that's just it; so many people go out and get tattoos today as if tomorrow isn't coming.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well my son was born in New Orleans Michelle and there is that and a fleur di lis, in tribute to the city I suppose.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I didn't smile when I saw the fleur di lis tattoo.

  26. I threw up a little at the last tat. Her life is over. There is just no coming back from that tat - ever. Can you imagine if she finds Jesus a few years from now and lands a nice guy? THAT reveal will traumatic for both parties.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yeah KST I'll bet that tattoo is quite the conversation piece. Maybe she could reference that tattoo when she says that it's far better to give than to receive.

    ReplyDelete
  28. That last tat?
    Aw hell no...!!!
I wouldn't even let that beast suck YOUR dick.

But IMOHO - A tat on a good looking woman can look good,
but a tat on an ugly beast makes her look even worse.

  29. That's what I was thinking John. I'm sure the minute a man enters that steaming cauldron that your black snake would start tinglings like it had gone asleep.

I'm scared of a wench like that!!!

  30. ^You two are hilarious. I have to agree with UBJ: Friends don't let friends receive fellatio from beasts.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ya never know KST, that girl probably has mad skillz. She can probably suck a golf ball through a garden hose or suck the chrome off a fender.

You can beat an egg and a drum; but it's hard to beat a good blowjob. But there is no way I'd stick mine in her pie hole.

  32. I think it all depends on the tattoo's the females get. Some of them ARE actually sexy. I can deal with the Tit Tats and the ones on the lower back, depending on what it is.

But the ones I loathe with a passion are the ones on the face and the ones on the Pussy. YES, THE PUSSY!!! I saw a picture Today (that I uploaded on Twitter) of one chick that had a Butterfly tattoo on the opening of her pussy hole. I'll never understand it.

Don't believe me? Take a Gander.

  33. Wizzy I don't like the tit tats because that's one place that I do not believe that ink can enhance. The most beautiful image in the world is a perfectly symetrical pair of ( @ )( @ ). Nothing is better than that.

    That's for that quick look.

Okay Wizzy, the pussy tat was just dead azz wrong!!! Wrong as two left shoes!!! It wasn't even pretty. That tat tells me that she sat with her legs open for quite some time to get that ink done. I just hope she was fresh.

Now I know that there are women out there that have had tats placed in their pubic hair. That way if they get tired of seeing them they can go all Don King and not have to look at them.

  34. wizz... that vag-too was sooooo wrong!

  35. Do it or don't do it but whatever you decide on, choose whatever answer you have because that's what you want to do or not do and not because of what you wonder others will think of you now or 30 or 40 years from now.

Speaking of which, what makes you think that you'll be around 30 or 40 years from now? None of us are even guaranteed that we will be here 30 or 40 days from now.

Remember what Auntie Mame said, "Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death. Live! Live! Live!"

  36. That's an excellent question brother Curious........why?!?

Because only the good die young and rest assured, I'm an evil son of a bitch!!! There's not way in hell that I'll check out early; hell, I'll probably be in the amen corner the day they're laying you out. I'm probably gonna grow to be so old that they'll start calling extreme old age pulling a Reggie.

  37. I think tattoos are hot on women.....until the women get old, THEN the reality of the situation kicks in.

    ReplyDelete
  38. When they're old Heff, the reality always sets in.......tattoo or not.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Agnes you made me go look for the answer. I've never taken French before. I had to google the translation.

Some of the tattoos are nice......one of them isn't quite so nice.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm sure I'm in the minority on this but DON'T DO IT, MAN! Have you seen an 80 year old tattoo?!! hahaha. And sorry to say, tattoos on women just look trashy to me. I thought Angelina Jolie (for example) was (classy) pretty, but when she got tatted up, even in a $13k evening gown and wearing diamonds, her tatts make her look like Courtney Love! I think they can be cool if not permanent, but skin is so sexy to me. Just check out some old person's tattoo one day! ... shit gets all wrinkly and faded over time and it looks like a person needs to bathe in Clorox! Don't do it, man! (smiles)

I happen to think skin is beautiful and sexy so if you're lucky enough to have beautiful skin, why mess with something that is 'perfection'? But hey-- that's just me.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I don't know yoy50, you might have been a tad bit harsh comparing Angelina to Courtney. Whenever I see Courtney I end up thinking that somewhere out there, there's a trailerpark missing it's trash. She couldn't possibly look more fucked up.......well, maybe if she was Amy Winehouse I guess.

I think that skin is beautiful too. That's why I think that tattoos don't belong on breasts or thighs........the only thing that belongs there is my face.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Okay... I was trying to illustrate what tattoos does in my mind on women (Angie vs. Courtney). But man... your breast and thighs comment... I'm feeling a little guilty (IS IT HOT IN HERE OR IS IT JUST ME?!) HAHAHA wooo! Good one and check mate, man! I blush. "Maybe the trailerpark is missing its' trash" (that shit was super funny, man)! haha

I personally hope you will not get a tattoo. In some cultures it means something (a right of passage perhaps) but in the U.S., what does a tattoo REALLY mean other than following a crowd? Sure, the claim is a "personal form of expression" but THAT can be done in written word, art, or even in song. My vote, I hope you WON'T do it. (winks and hugs my, friend, winks and hugs atcha')! :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. To be honest yoy50, it's kinda hard for me to look at that last tattoo and actually say that I'd want one.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm glad to hear that Reggie! You won't regret it (especially in your golden years). smiles

    ReplyDelete
  45. Time will tell yoy50, time will certainly tell.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Nope. I would never get a tattoo. I love my skin just the way it is. I have no desire to have any carvings, etchings, markings or scribbles over it. ~Besides, I bruise easily.

My older brother has a warrior on his arm, that's an idea for you.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Nah, I'm more like you than your brother. The more I think about it, the more I see it as a very bad idea.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Well Me myself have tattoos and I think of it as a symbol of individuality. All my tatts represent something dealin with my personailty but I seen alot that made me ask why in the hell you'll get that. But hey each its on I guess and you right its not for everyone

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yup Chad, to each his own. I'm a firm believer in that concept. One things for sure, my canvas is still bare.
