I absolutely love college football. I've been a fan for most of my life. So even though Jerry Sandusky has been retired for the better part of 12 years, I clearly remember him. He was an excellent college football coach. His Penn State defenses played tough and hit hard.
However, what's been going on in State College, Pennsylvania over the last week or so has nothing to do with tough defenses or hitting hard or even college football. What's been going on recently is about reprehensible human beings, covering asses and child molestation. While I understand why so much attention has been placed on Joe Paterno, for the life of me I don't understand why the bulk of the media aren't perched on Jerry Sandusky's front lawn; and why every time he shows his face he isn't faced with a barrage of questions.
Have you had sex with little boys?!?
If so, how long have you been doing this and how many little boys have you had sex with?!?
Have you had sex with any of your own children or grandchildren?!?
Why do you think that Penn State officials were quick to cover all this up?!?
When a man has sex with a child do you think he ruins that child's life?!?
Do you know of any other Penn State officials that like having sex with children?!?

I'd like to say that I understand what's going on, but to be honest I don't understand anyone that would even consider utilizing a child for sex. As a matter of fact, I have difficulties even thinking about it without getting really pissed off. The father in me understands why the parent of an abused child would choose to kill the person that violated their child.
This week there have been many fans of college football that have been concerned about Joe Paterno's legacy and how spending 61 years at Penn State should entitle him to go out on his own accord. This story shouldn't be about some old coaches right to coach more football games. This story should be about abused children, the evil that men do and the poor decisions that still other men made in order to cover their asses and keep this awful story out of the limelight. The mistake that some people are making is in comparing this to what's happened to other football coaches over the years. If anything, they should be comparing this to the abuses of the Catholic Church, because the similarities are clearly there. Someone needs to ask Mr. Paterno why he didn't feel that it was his civic duty to call the police and report this reprehensible crime.
There will always be people that will take an opportunity to take advantage of others. It happens in every aspect of human life. It's constantly going on, it's probably just the nature of men (and women) to do so. But when it involves children........and sexual abuse, all bets are off. At that point, this becomes a black and white issue. There is no defense for anyone who stands in the way of justice for children treated like sex objects.
As a society we need to take a hard stance on those that would exploit our children. I see no reason why we shouldn't close ranks on these types of people; and while there are those people out there that value ALL human life, I'm not one of them. I don't believe that every single person on the face of this planet actually adds value to our society.
I'm a staunch supporter of the death penalty because of murderers and child molesters. I see no reason why those convicted of these crimes shouldn't swing at the end of a rope on pay per view. To me, that would be "Must see TV".
There are many aspects of this story that are disturbing as hell, but one thing about this story keeps nagging at the parent in me. What kind of man walks in on another man raping a child and can turn around and walk away without beating the ever loving shit out of that rapist?!?

I don't know the story Reggie, but it sounds real murky!..that last comment, sends chills. I dont know how any man or woman could do such a thing - i really don't - it's beyond comprehesion for me- sad.
ReplyDeleteReggie, you said basically what I've been feeling since the story broke. I've heard people say that I can't say how I would have reacted in that situation but they're wrong. I know without a shadow of a doubt that right now people would be discussing my trial & how to get me off because I would have beat Sandusky to within an inch of his life. I'm tired of adults standing by while kids are abused. The whole lot of them ( to include McCrearys father) ought to be facing charges. Every one of them failed as a human being.
ReplyDeleteDawna if you Google "Penn State" or "Jerry Sandusky" you'll read and be thoroughly disgusted within moments. Its not a pretty story. Its a lesson in a few reasons to string so called God fearing men up in the closest tree.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed they did DaenelT. I am surprised that sane men would dishonor themselves and behave like jackasses over the foolish decisions made by grown men.
ReplyDeleteI don't care who it was in that shower, I wouldn't have stood there without saying something. How any man could see something like that without saying anything is beyond me. If that were me, dude would have taken a beatdown, I don't care how old he was either.
As far as I'm concerned they all failed as human beings.
Arse holes the lot of them....Wow some sick SHITEEEE...had a peek at the story made me wanna throw up. Society is FCUKED up an understatement!!!.
ReplyDeleteAssholes are the same all over the world ChilledLeo. They are an integral part of every civilized and uncivilized society. No matter where they are found in the world they ought to be strung up on the nearest tree like the filthy pieces of shit that they are.
ReplyDeleteReggie,
ReplyDeleteThis scandal is just beginning to unfold. I couldn't read more than two pages of the grand jury inditment because it was just so horrible to think about.
The men who are responsible for this crime need to all have their asses prosecuted. This is a crime that should of never had as much longivity as it did.
The victims were primarily Black males. So, what should we make of their collective mentality? Children of color are not important enough to protect? That is so messed up.
Children are children to me. The colors of the faces really shouldn't matter. I never cease to be amazed MsLadyDeborah at just how low down and dirty some men are. How any man could look at a child and think of sex is beyond me. How any man could walk in on a man abusing a child and turn away and leave is beyond me. There are so many things about my fellow man that I do not understand; and a few more things that I hope to never understand.
ReplyDeleteI am completely comfortable saying that I would lose all sense of self and sanity, as a parent. Like DaenelT said, I too would have commenced to beating the asshole "within an inch of his life". In my opinion, this is a clear case of what women and children are treated like in society. There is a 5-year statute of limitations on rape against a woman, and they actually have the damn nerve to even consider giving someone the benefit of the doubt for fuckin' on a child. WTF type of shit is that?! Then they wonder why people take vigilante justice into their own hands. Who the hell wants to hear about something like that happening to their child or a child that they love?! Hard pill to swallow.
ReplyDelete"61 years at Penn State should entitle him to go out on his own accord." They are some tenure bullshit and it makes me so sick that this would even be a consideration, or come up in the same sentence. One should have NOTHING to do with the other. I'm disgusted.
"What kind of man walks in on another man raping a child and can turn around and walk away without beating the ever loving shit out of that rapist?!?"
ReplyDeleteAn evil man that is more concerned with his own advancement within the program or one that intends to use that information to blackmail his bosses or a coward.
Traci I'm disgusted too. It's hard for me to even discuss this without shouting. These old men and what they feel they deserve. These same men that fuck children behind closed doors will sit back in judgement of the evils that still others do. To me there is nothing worse than a child molester, nothing.
ReplyDeleteThat about covers it Shady Grady.
ReplyDeleteGreat comparison between the Catholic Church and Penn State. Two huge bureaucracies designed to protect the organization before anything else.
ReplyDeleteAnd what bothers me, beside what you mention, is the then grad assistant now coach that saw Sandusky raping a child and didn't try to stop it. He's as slimy as Sandusky and yet he still has his job and hasn't been charged as an accessory.
That's the second most disturbing aspect of this entire disgusting story Val. What kind of human being walks in on that and simply does nothing?
ReplyDeleteIts like the Catholic church scandal, some will protect the status quo at all costs, even at the cost of their humanity.
ReplyDeleteGrowing up we had such a case in my boarding secondary school of a senior molesting a junior, arrogant fellow who felt his rich parent trappings protected him from retribution. His word against the kid's, but we knew this kid was of good stock and would never ever lie, and his friends attested to advances from this senior guy. we took justice in our hands and gave him a thorough complete beating of his dirty life. did the idiot report the event? never! cos he knew we really knew what went down, we dared him to. the wanker left school not long after. no place for this evil anywhere in society.
The accessory should get it in the neck too for his saying nothing has contributed to damaging innocent lives beyond repair
Sounds like you and your friends did that fellow a good turn in beating the shit outta him. Sometimes a good beating goes a long way Chrome.
ReplyDeleteHang 'em all I say. God will send the righteous to heaven.
Reggie, The parent in me is in total, total agreement with you. Not only the parent in me; even if I had no kids I would beat the shit out of him. The whole thing makes me sick to my stomach.
ReplyDeleteDaij its one sick bastard that has a thing for children.
ReplyDeleteA few of these folks need to get the shit beat out of them and Jerry Sandusky should be the first person in line.
This story is fucking sickening to me and I agree with Reg the death penalty definitely applies here. Everyone associated with this mess should go to jail and be put in population with the rest of the inmates to see what it feels like to live in a high anxiety fearful environment.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it sickening BT. Maybe Jerry Sandusky should have to sit down to pee and have to braid his cellmates hair and wash his draws out in their sink. Maybe that will help build his character?
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you, Reggie.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah this is some real twisted shit!!!
ReplyDeleteThis story is too horrible for words. They should have cut his dick off and fed it to him. I know I would have if it was my kid.
ReplyDelete"I'd like to say that I understand what's going on, but to be honest I don't understand anyone that would even consider utilizing a child for sex. ReplyDeleteNothing more needs be said..
But as for "Joe-pa" who did NOTHING and let this dude stay on his staff...and the dude that walked in on the physical act of old shrivled dick ramming into young 10 year old bootie and did NOTHING but run and tell his pops...
There is a special place in hell for both of them. This shit could have been stopped YEARS ago..But they put the rep of a college above the lives of children..and that in my book negates every thing that ole Joe-pa ever did in his esteemed hall of fame coaching career.
Damn BayouCreole tell us how you really feel, don't hold back.
ReplyDeleteDirtyRed there is a special plaace in hell for both child molesters and the people that protect them. There are more than a few aspects of this story that thoroughly disgust me.
ReplyDeleteI hope they all end up getting raped in prison.
Where was the compassion; the sense of morality, the priority of knowing right from wrong? The whole situation is tragic on so many levels. May the guilty ones fry in HELL for destroying the lives of these young boys!
ReplyDelete& Oh... Happy Turkey Day, My Brotha.
One.
Yeah they should burn in hell alright!!!
