Why do I blog?!?
Personally I utilize this blogging thing as an outlet to relieve stress. Believe me there are days when this is far better for me than any tonic or pill I could get from any doctor, or any treatment that I could possibly receive in anyone's therapy.
Sure I have fun doing this. There have been many a day when I read someone's post and laughed my ass off. I love to laugh at other people almost as much as I enjoy laughing at myself. At the end of my day, blogging is an excellent option for me. But it's not like I only do this to fuck with people online that I've never met before and wouldn't know from Adam if we passed each other on the street.

I desperately need this.
I learned to love this thing called blogging on Yahoo 360. I absolutely loved that site; and when that site died and went the way of the dodo, I moved here. I like it here, though not quite as much as I enjoyed it there.
Lately my job has become extremely stressful; and although I believe I handle stress just as well as the next guy, I will say again that Reggie needs this shit!!!
Why do you blog?!?
***
Oh and before I forget, my next post will be on September 3rd. On that day, I'll be celebrating Derriere Day 2011. Maybe you remember my Mammorial Day blog entry from earlier this year? Well dammit, I've decided that we don't have quite enough holidays in this country!!!
Anyone who would like to send a picture of their very own derriere can send it to Reggiesblogspot@yahoo.com and I'll include it in my post. I've already received a few pictures and I'll be posting those and I'd be more than happy to post anymore that I receive via email. Once again, this is completely anonymous. No one will ever know whose derrieres are posted. If you'd like to participate, please submit your entry no later than September 1st.

Hey Reggie! I started this thing when I had my feelings hurt by a "friend". Like you, it was an outlet. I just started writing away with no intention on staying with it for any length of time or connecting with so many great people :-). It's been a great thing and feeds my creative side a bit.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it awesome CurvyGurl?!?
ReplyDeleteThis particular ism does seem to stroke our creative sides doesn't it?!?
continue to blog
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a great outlet Reggie, I agree but it's definitely is no place I would want to display my patootie...that's for sure! Happy blogging Reggie!
ReplyDeleteThat's the plan Wonder Man.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that you have a very nice patootie. Why should the world be deprived of seeing it? Especially since they won't know that its yours.
ReplyDeletei blog because once in a while... i like to write.
ReplyDeletei suppose its a creative outlet... and a way to get the most intimate thoughts i have out of my head... this helps me make sense of things sometimes when im confused... or troubled.
i blog hoping someone can relate on occasion.
i blog to share my joy... my laughter... my sorrow... you know?
i like the fact that no one here really knows me... im not "michelle someones mom" here... or "michelle someones wife"... im just michelle who writes... and i kind of like that too.
youre really my only reader here reggie... i came here when 360 sank because of you... i stay because of you.
i blog mostly for me... but i could do that in a journal... i post things here because i want SOMEONE ELSE to read it... and to understand me.
i write my little bits, stuff them in imaginary bottles and float them out into the internet sea and hope that someone... somewhere is getting my messages.
ReplyDeleteoh... and good luck with the booty shots! lol you animal!
ReplyDeleteI can relate to what michelle has said , in fact I can relate to all the comments. I love to write. When i blog i'm able to share my thoughts and feelings, my views, my story, even the experiences of others, hoping it reaches someone somewhere. Hoping it builds closeness, and understanding. Inspires someone maybe, or offers comfort. It's like a bridge that connects us. I look forwrad to reading the updates of blogs i follow, the variety, often a good laugh, often I learn something new
ReplyDeleteIt has become very much a part of who i am , a great outlet
looking forward to your 'special edition:)'
Michelle I blog, therefore I am........some idiot said that once and I remembered it.
ReplyDeleteI read your blog because you're a great writer Michelle. You should strive to reach out to more people and increase your readership. You're a much better writer than I am Michelle.
Reggie blogging is a wonderful outlet that allows me to escape some of life pain and disappointments....and by the way I read yours and Rippa writing at 360....good stuff!!
ReplyDeleteDawna I just realized that one of my descendents 50 years from now could come across one of my posts and find out what a maniac I am. Maybe I should clean this up a bit?
ReplyDeleteNah!!!
Thanks jjbrock.
ReplyDeleteI miss 360. Its actually because of RiPPa that I came to Blogger in the first place. He's the best blogger that I've associated with; and I was actually fortunate enough to meet him in person last summer when I took a trip to Memphis.
There were many great bloggers on Yahoo 360.
Reggie, I don't know how you found my blog, but I'm glad you did. You have provided me with many a laugh, plenty of blushes and a couple of "Oh no he din't" moments...
ReplyDeleteI originally started blogging as a librarian ~ you know a way to share my job/life/frustrations with other librarians now I do it because it's fun. I like interacting with others...
I hesitantly pressed the Blogger button and officially started blogging as a means to reach my greatest heights!
ReplyDeleteI KNEW deep in my soul that I had greatness on the inside, but I had no way to release it.
Not until I found out about Blogger and a year later flipped the blog launch switch! Now I count myself among the great writers: M. Angelou, Z. Hurston, R. Rantings, T. Macmillan and others! I thank Google for it all.
Reggie I would know it's mine & you would know it's mine and that is a few too many people knowing whose patootie it is. I agree with you about Michelles writing, she is very gifted and should write more. I love reading your posts Michelle.
ReplyDeleteDaenelT we could all stand to laugh and blush a little more. I'm gonna have to kick it up a notch and strive to redden your face on a more regular basis.
ReplyDeleteI love to interact with intelligent people.
Anna Renee you are an excellent writer.
ReplyDeleteKatherine I can tell you honestly that Michelle has been selling her writings short for all the years that I've known her. I don't remember exactly how Michelle and I were introduced; but I clearly remember being moved to tears when I read her post about how she came to know and love her husband Julius. She has mad skillz!!!
ReplyDeleteAm such a chatter box and always seem to wanna add my two pennies in at every given opportunity. As such a good friend introduced me to this rather funky method of letting out your thoughts and feelings.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy writing anyway but this blog thing has taken me on some roller coaster ride of outrageous emotions, feelings am loving it. The best part for me is I get to express myself sideways, vertically and horizontally without a care in the world that initself has become my vice.
Like yourself Reggie I crack up when I read other blog post the humour and seriousness all rolled into one great stuff.
The most wonderful thing about this electronic communication is the interface which means getting to meet new people and embracing a different perspective on life.....I can thoroughly say am addicted!!!
ChilledLeo you touched on something that I absolutely love about this media; and that is that we get to interact with people daily that before we wouldn't have had the opportunity to interact with.
ReplyDeleteThe Internet has made the world smaller....and just a tad bit more tolerant I think.
Other than sharing things that I find interesting, I blog mostly to practice my English, because I hope one day to be able to write professionally. It's quite an exhausting process, compared to how easily I write in my own language, but it allows me to keep track of my evolution and monitor my mistakes.
ReplyDeleteAnd I co-sign to what ChilledLeo said: it's great to meet new people that I would have never met otherwise. As couple of them I even met in real life after they commented on my blog, and we became good friends. Others are still only in the virtual world, but I think of them very fondly and I hope to meet them in person one day.
blogging let's me ventilate in a way I couldn't do offline. so I can say things, post videos, pictures and other stuff I wouldn't post on Facebook, twitter and such networks. My own semi-anonymous virtual world
ReplyDeleteDerriere Day on September 3rd!!! Yay!!! that's my birthday. double celebrations, I'll drink to that
*cue "papa was a rolling stone"*
I blog to be a voice for the voiceless.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm curious Catintherain what is your first language?
ReplyDeleteChrome I certainly hope that you have a very happy birthday.
ReplyDeleteThat's a rather noble reason Redeye. Me, I just like running my piehole.
ReplyDeleteMy first language is Romanian, which is a Romance language similar to Italian, but with many Slavic influences. It's quite different from English, and sometimes I don't know how to write certain things.
ReplyDeleteyou do exceptionally well, in my opinion cat :) i couldnt write my way out of a kindergarten class in french... and i took french in school for around 12 years! lol
ReplyDeletethanks Katherine and thank you too Reggie... im not all that concerned about my readership... the two of you read my page often enough... and i am satisfied and happy with that :) i appreciate the time you both take to respond to every post too :)
youre both very fine writers as well :)
Thank you, Michelle, that's very sweet of you to say :).
ReplyDeleteI initially began blogging to help with the post traumatic stuff but, so many people who were exiled began reading it that, it became an outlet to give them a piece of home. I haven't been blogging for a minute but, I hope to get back into the swing of things next month.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you found my blog but,I'm also glad you did. I LOVE the vibe over here.
Which reminds me, uhhhh Reg,any luck with those male patooties bruh?
Well you're well ahead of me Catintherain, I don't know a word of Romanian.
ReplyDeleteYour English writing skills are excellent.
Thank you Michelle, thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteShe does have her moments Catintherain.
ReplyDeleteBayouCreole I haven't received not one male derriere. My promise to you is that I will post a male derriere provided its accompanied in the picture by a female one........a double if you were.
ReplyDeleteSo far I've received three pictures for that post, all female.
Im gonna send you a pic...seriously. I love blogger i also merged over here after 360 took the plunge. I enjoy sharing with like minded ppl
ReplyDeleteI actually started blogging to launch my new venture...publishing, then things changed somewhere an i blogged about my life, what i was feeling, not feeling, the in's and outs. It cost less than a psychiatrist and i'm good now :)
ReplyDeleteMiz
I guess the brothas don't wanna take a booty pic with their ladies. *sigh* Ya can't blame a girl for trying....lol
ReplyDeleteThank you Budda.
ReplyDeleteI just love the social interaction with people from various backgrounds.
Miz, yes indeed, this is certainly cheaper than a head shrinker.
ReplyDeleteYou gotta make it do what it do BayouCreole.
ReplyDeleteI starting blogging because I wanted an outlet to speak my mind. I thought if was anonymous it would be easier. It's not though because I still don't share things I want to talk about. I'm slowly losing my inhibition.
ReplyDeleteI really love reading your blog Reggie. I can't tell you how many times I have been in a dark space and read your blog and I laughed so much my spirits were lifted. You have blessed me in so many ways. Also you are the only person who reads my blog and sometimes leave a comment. I appreciate and thank you. Keep up the good work I enjoy it.
Queen of Hearts thank you for the kind words.
ReplyDeleteThere have been many times when I was down too and a blog post lifted my spirits as well.
Blogging helped me to come out of my shell as well.
Like most writing, blogging has become a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia. Good luck w/ those azz shots. lol.
ReplyDeleteOne.
hello regs! *smile* I MUST stay tuned for the derierre posting! *rubbing hands* patiently waiting...LOL!
ReplyDeleteAnywho, good question...when I first started blogging it was for a random thing. trying out something. posting about any & everything from ma kidz to ma now, ex hub.
Eventually I let the first blog go because I was at a different point in ma life. I stopped for a bit but even in the mist of ma life messes, I actually ENJOYed it! (blogging..not the mess) *smile* Soon after I started a 2nd blog because I was starting a new chapter in ma life.
I blog now for self theraputic expression. Write outs, instead of being physical. A scrapbook of daily life. An outlet for ma mind and unspoken wordz...
Thanks for letting me share. *smile* ENJOY the rest of ya week!
I deleted a couple of blogs before I finally settled for personal style blogging. The exposure factor is less. Since I started I've learnt a bit more about photography and how to pose for the camera. There're lots more to learn. My personal style has also improved. It's fun. A new hobby that helps me de-stress.
ReplyDeleteMoanerplicity it is what it is; and as Popeye said, "I yam what I yam".
ReplyDeleteMzE I look forward to the Derriere Day post as well. I've always liked holidays and Derriere Day and Mammorial Day are definitely two of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is certainly unique Inez. Like you, blogging allows me to de-stress.
ReplyDeleteI swear I commented on this post a few days ago but blogger likes to eat up comments like good 'ol Yahoo 360 used to. And speaking of 360 that's where I first found this wonderful format of expression. Its my outlet and my necessary release from the everyday nonsense. I'm too fucking manly to have a journal so thank God for blogging and the added bonus of other cats sharing their opinions, right or wrong, about what you've regurgitated from your dome. I'm looking forward to Derriere Day I'm a fellow assman myself but you know that already lol
ReplyDeleteYes BT I do know that you are indeed a connoisseur of the booty.
ReplyDeleteI learned that about you on Yahoo 360.
I AM THEREFORE I BLOG
ReplyDeleteMind you I have NOT blogged in ages! So therefore, AM I?
ReplyDeleteIts been awhile Marcia.
ReplyDeleteThen maybe its time to blog Marcia.
ReplyDeleteIs it the 3rd yet?
ReplyDeleteNot yet, but its quickly approaching. Like all holidays there will always be loads of anticipation.
ReplyDeleteI'm still hoping to get a few more participatory emails, though I do have a few nice ones thus far.
We blog just for fun, thats what really matters after all
ReplyDeleteI certainly enjoy it.
